Writing

About

I’m a writer, filmmaker, entrepreneur and educator. My work is mission-driven. I'm interested in gun violence, voting rights, indigent defense, public safety, national politics and more. I move between fact and fiction.

I write books, docs, scripted TV, essays, journalism, smart copy and pointed tweets. I generate, produce, shoot, direct and edit all kinds of film, video and animation. I also created and run Gun Country, a multi-format project that reboots the conversation about guns in America.

I grew up wrangling sheep on a farm in Australia. I now live in Brooklyn with my unduly patient wife, three absurdly creative young adult offspring and three dogs that reject man’s dominion over the animals.

"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler."
--Albert Einstein
